Kenya Loisaba Rangers and Rhinos

The Loisaba rangers are the backbone of the conservancy, and in 2023, you, our Royal African Foundation family, provided the Loisaba Conservancy Rangers with 99 pairs of new ranger boots and a fully equipped container gym. Both are helping the rangers to perform their wide range of duties which include rescuing animals in trouble, responding to human‐wildlife conflict situations to protect all lives, helping communities to recover stolen livestock, and doing extensive security patrols to protect the over 260 bird and 50 mammal species that call this 57,000-acre conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya home.

Then, in 2024, Loisaba successfully reintroduced 21 black rhinos to the Conservancy after a 50-year absence. This was a significant milestone in conservation. To help support this initiative, you provided the rangers now working tirelessly to protect these rhinos with 10 first aid kits and two full medic packs, for which they were very grateful, as there are many risks of injury while on the job. These kits have all the necessary supplies to address injuries and stabilise any more serious conditions until professional medical help can be reached.

In 2025, you are now supporting Loisaba’s K-9 response team with remote support services and essential K-9 unit supplies.

Thank you so much for supporting thier fantastic work to benefit communities, wilderness and wildlife in and around Loisaba. If you would like to further support their work, please do so through our foundation.
