Kenya - Big Life's
Community Health Program
Over the past two years, you have enabled Big Life Foundation to expand its community health program into the Olgulului Group Ranch surrounding Amboseli National Park. In 2024, 1670 people in Olgulului Group Ranch received primary healthcare through backpack nurse clinics directly because of your support. Beneficiaries received primary medical care from trained nurses, including immunizations, deworming, HIV testing, antenatal care, and family planning services. A total of 21,202 people in Olgulului received health information through these clinics, dialogue meetings, and Big Life’s growing network of community health volunteers.

You have helped mamas like Naiperiai (pictured right), who is 25 years old and has two children. She has attended dialogue meetings and backpack nurse clinics facilitated by Big Life with your support, and she said, “These (dialogue) sessions have truly changed my perspective on health; I now realize how crucial it is to keep my children immunized.” She said the backpack nurse clinics have meant she and her fellow mamas “no longer have to travel long distances to get medical care“. Furthermore, Naiperiai and her husband have decided to take up family planning and are aiming to space any future children they may have by two to three years apart as is recommended for her health and their children’s health. She stated confidently that: “Thanks to the family planning education I’ve received, I can care for my family without compromising my health. I am very thankful.” She also said family planning will help her and her husband manage their resources, “I want to give each of my children the care and education they deserve without feeling overwhelmed“. Naiperiai is now a vocal advocate in her village and is encouraging other women to take advantage of these services to improve both their health and the well-being of their families.
Thank you so much for supporting Naiperiai and thousands of other mamas and their families to get health education and medical care through this program!
