Sand River Corridor
Osero Community Football League
With your help, we are continuing to work with our partners in the corridor on land-use plans that keep the Mara and the Sacred Forest connected in ways that benefit the people and wildlife in this area. (Find more about this in the full Sand River Corridor project page here).

We are also working to develop new partnerships with community members. We recently came across a group of ten football teams dispersed in the corridor. Thanks to some of our wonderful supporters, we were able to help them register their league which they have called the Osero Community Football League. Then over the New Year, we were able to hold a tournament for them, which they all really enjoyed. There was lots of great competition and the tournament was won by Oldisare who beat Reinboys in the final 3:1! Below are some videos of them celebrating and everyone getting involved. Also, all ten teams received new kits and shoes from a sponsor because of the tournament, which they were extremely grateful for!
We plan to continue to help their organisation develop by helping them to develop their own sustainable income streams. We also plan to make sure that they are included in the conversation and not left out as many of the young people in this area have been so far.
