Kenya Safari Doctors

Safari Doctors provide innovative, community-driven healthcare solutions that promote well-being for marginalized communities across the Lamu Archipelago, in Lamu County, Kenya. The Safari Doctors team travel by boat and road to rural villages to conduct mobile medical clinics, reaching thousands of patients each month.

Moreover, Safari Doctors operate a civic education program that builds local women’s capacity to engage in county health budget processes and inform policy.

They promote a ‘One Health’ approach which recognizes that the health of people is connected to the health of animals and the environment. They also have a Safari Vet programme which addresses some of these issues.

Furthermore, Safari Doctors’ Health Ambassadors education program engages young men and women to become health leaders in their communities.
