Chris Rodgers, son of renowned conservationist Dr. Alan Rodgers, spent the first two years of his life in India, where his father set up the Indian Wildlife Institute. When he was four, his parents returned to Tanzania. Thanks to his father’s countless field trips, Chris encountered the real Africa from an early age and, just like his father, he developed a passion for Africa’s people and wildlife.
Since he received his guide certification in South Africa, Chris has led safaris in Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa. He also managed the Manyara Ranch Conservancy, a community-based conservation project working with the Maasai to protect critical wildlife corridors in northern Tanzania.
Fluent in Kiswahili and conversant in Maa, Chris’s familiarity and ease with local cultures facilitate a rich and rewarding safari experience. He lives in Tanzania and regularly leads photographic, walking, and horseback safaris throughout East Africa.
