Spotlight On Antony ‘Mwendwa’ Musya

Mwendwa is a vital member of our northern Kenya mobile camp. He is excellent at organizing and planning what is needed for our rooms. He ensures the tent is beautiful and ready for our guests at all times.

What is your role here?

I’m a room steward, but I like to help out with other things too.

How long have you been working for Royal African Safaris?

Since 2006.

How did you come to work here?

I worked before as a tent steward with another safari company. I applied for this job when I heard Royal African Safaris were looking for room stewards.

What do you like most about working here?

I enjoy making the rooms look nice for our guests.

Where are you from?

Kitui, about 200km east of Nairobi.

Where is your favorite place? 

I like the Mara. I have very good memories of watching lions kill wildebeest and buffalo while on safari in the Mara.

Do you have a favorite animal?

Lions because they are the king of all the other animals.
